As we know, two-piece group “Crown Lands” has completely mastered the art of enchanting tales through the might of their music. With that, Cody Bowles and Kevin Comeau have been keeping another spellbinding scene up their sleeves… until now! If you were lucky enough to have heard it played live starting a few months before its release, you’d know that it’s a journey created for the generations. From the world of “Fearless”, listeners are whisked away deeper into the caverns of Crown Land’s beautiful creation: with a new single titled “Lady of the Lake”. While not quite as lengthy as their previous release, and no less beautiful, “Lady of the Lake” (speedily nicknamed “The Lady”) has already made her significant dent in the world of prog rock. Not only led by bewitching lyricism and raw vocal power, you’ll be swept away by the mystic instrumentals and cinematic drum grooves. With the use of a 12-string acoustic, guitarist Kevin Comeau creates a medieval experience as he fuses it with electric guitar, creating rise and fall, the breath of the music. The song blossoms to life and explodes with color as Cody’s high-powered vocals couple with the riffs and drum licks to belt above the action. With lyrics telling accounts of vicious battles and vile armies, “The Lady” describes a fantastical land and the fight against its evil. It’s a voyage, a trek, a flight through the waves of craftsmanship. As vocalist and drummer Cody Bowles perfectly notes, “Steeped in a myriad of mythology, our song ‘Lady of the Lake’ tells the tale of an ancient battle for control over the realm and a powerful goddess who is called upon to dispel the darkness.” A flawless escape for those with imaginations far and wide. Truly leading prog-rock with their own hands, Crown Lands makes certain every strain of music brims with texture and emotion. Coupled with an incredible music video that in itself deserves a standing applause, the piece becomes a living thing; not only in our own imaginations but in tangible scenes.
