"Flamingo" By Flamígos EP (Track-By-Track) Review

Flamígos, a Charlotte, North Carolina based indie-rock trio, released their debut EP 'Flamingo'- 4-tracks about going through heartbreak and about moving on from a past relationship.

Here's what I think about each track of Flamígos' four-track EP:

Track 1 - Flamingo: Based on the lyrics and the vibe that the song is giving, the song is about moving on from and forgetting about what happened in a previous relationship. The lyrics that stand out with the type of vibe it gives off are, "I take it as a sign that I'm not doing something right” and "'cause I'm not going back anytime soon." Which meant that, you might've met and fell in love with the right person at the wrong time, but when thinking about the previous relationship, it would make you think about every single decision that you'd make in the future.. whether it’s going into your second relationship or meeting someone new.

Track 2 - Sunday Afternoon: The song's instrumental is like a mix of musical theatre and indie-rock. The song is probably about going through a rough time processing the breakup and remembering the last time you've seen your ex.Lyrics that stands out are "This isn't easy, it’s the hardest part. 'cause I know no matter what I do, you're gonna break my heart." Which meant that whatever happened in the past relationship, it felt like you were in love with the right person but at the wrong time.

Track 3 - In a Movie: The instrumentals of the song are giving a nostalgic going-on-a-movie-date vibe. The song is probably all about how the first relationship must've been rushed. Lyric that stand out in the song are, "You and me were a part of a Marvel movie on a screen, and it sounded like a symphony, didn't have to play no royalties. Me and you didn't know what to do when we couldn't watch on pay-per-view the start of something new." Whatever happened during the relationship felt like a romantic film.

Track 4 - Reminisce: Based on the title of the track and the instrumental, the song is about what it’s like to remember the good times, and a relationship that is no longer. The lyrics speak for what the song is about, "You're haunting me like a voice in the past."
