Charleston, South Carolina's beloved folk-surf-rock band Easy Honey's new single "Orbiter" came out on January 27th, and it's a banger. A surf rock anthem, if you will. Written by band members Charlie Holt, Darby McGlone, Selby Austin, and Webster Austin. The song and music video have such an incredible vibe.
First off, let's talk about how fun the music video is. The scenery is beautiful, and I love the style of video they did. Ya know, the whole "band performing with cool scenery but make it funny and have zoom in moments like Malcolm in the Middle" thing, I love that. It reminded me a bit of some of the Talking Heads music videos, especially the one for Once in a Lifetime. And at times it reminded me of The Doors. Why? I don't know. Maybe the lighting, or just the overall feel of it. But regardless, I love it.
Now, as for the song itself, I absolutely love it. That intro guitar riff is awesome; the whole song reminds me a little bit of Tom Petty's 90s stuff, which is super cool. Maybe even a little Traveling Wilburys influence, so overall, a southern rock meets modern rock meets surf rock vibe that I totally love. The lyrics are catchy, and speaking of which, the song is actually stuck in my head as I write this, but I don't mind.
Check these guys out, they rock. And give that music video a watch, you won't regret it.
YESSS GRACIE this is awesome!
